Both the Early Childhood Curriculum (Te Whaariki) and the New Zealand Primary School Curriculum contains music. Often teachers can be nervous about teaching a subject which comes with a completely different language and a few hundred years of history. That's where I come in. Using plain language throughout I teach you not only what the elements of music are - but how to teach them to others. I teach in the same way your students will learn - through musical play. You will see your resources in a whole new way on your return to your centre/school, and feel confident to use music throughout the curriculum - not just in Music lessons. |
If you are enjoying music classes and would like to know more then contact me to be added to my mailing list. Makingmusicfun@xtra.co.nz Throughout the year I run courses to upskill parents to use music in their own homes with their children. Courses for 2010 may include: Supporting your child as they learn an instrument. Taming Toddlers through music. The elements of music - a parent's eye view. If you are a home educator or nanny you will find this great professional development.

Prices vary depending on travel, venue costs and subject. As a rough guide parent courses will be $10-20 per person and held at a community centre or Plunket room. Teacher courses tend to be longer and would be around $150-$300 per course (not per person) at your venue. | ||||
