Making Music Fun Pre School Music Classes in Christchurch, New Zealand. Julie Gaudin is an Registered Music Teacher who has taught hundreds of Pre School children and babies. She has a Masters degree in music and was the first person in New Zealand to be awarded the Institute of Registered Music Teachers Diploma in Early Childhood Music. She is an Associate of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers and the President of Canterbury Musical Parenting."My philosophy is that each class should contain no more than a dozen children, so each child receives individual attention throughout the class. This also allows the children to influence the musical experience, we can compose songs or extend activities based on the interests of the class. The whole body is used to learn, along with a range of equipment. Repetition creates a safe environment for children to experience success with music." Babies birth - 12 months or walking Classes are capped at 12 babies. Bouncy activites to stimulate the vestibular system start the class, puppets to captivate and soothing music and massage make this a special time for parent and baby. Having only babies in the class helps baby and parent focus and relax.

Family Classes. Toddlers explore sounds, movements and instruments in a structured environment. Lots of solo singing (rather than music on CD) allow toddlers to hear proper pronunciation of words, and the music can be slowed right down so that children can experience success with the movements.

Family Classes Older children now can jump, hop and skip to the music, pretend to be animals, or on a trip to outer space. Musical play stimulates their imaginations. Pre reading and pre maths is blended into the music, preparing your child for Kindergarten and School. Ideas are explored for longer as your child's concentration grows. Younger siblings are welcomed into the group.
